Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Roman Zaiets.

While defending Ukraine from Russian-fascist occupiers, scout of the guard unit, soldier Roman Mykolayovych Zaiets, was killed. In peaceful life, he was a handball player, a member of the SCA-Lviv team. This was reported by the Handball Federation of Ukraine.

Roman Zaiets was born on September 2, 1995, and studied at Krasyliv School No. 3.

In 2012, he graduated from the Brovary Higher School of Physical Culture. Later he finished his studies at the Faculty of Pedagogical Education of the Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Boberskyi, where he studied in the department of sports and recreational games (sports specialization - handball).

Roman had repeatedly won Universiades of Lviv region, became a bronze medalist of the 2015 Ukarinian Universiade and a silver medalist of the 2017 Ukrainian Universiade, he was a player of the Ukrainian championship team "SCA-Lviv".

According to the Krasyliv City Council, in May 2024, he voluntarily signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and became a soldier, changing his own life to protect Ukraine.

After undergoing military training in Germany, he fought within the Fifth Kyiv Assault Brigade.

The warrior was killed on September 27, 2024 near Donetsk. The hero was buried on October 4, 2024, with full military honors at the Alley of Glory in Krasyliv.

The defender is survived by a wife, a young son, a father, and a mother. Roman Zaiets is forever 29...

"Glavkom" joins the moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died fighting for the Motherland. We remember those who died at the hands of Russian invaders, light candles of remembrance and bow our heads in sorrow during the national moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military, civilians, and children, all who died fighting against Russian occupiers and as a result of the hostile forces' attack on Ukrainian cities and villages.
