Due to a gap about 10 meters wide that cut off their way to dry land, the men were approximately a kilometer from the shore and could not save themselves.
Police officers from the patrol police response department and SES staff joined the rescue operation and saved the fishermen. All those affected were brought to the shore where an ambulance was waiting. No one was injured.
The police of Kyiv region urges citizens to adhere to safety rules on ice, as fluctuations in temperature can make the ice cover dangerous, even if it seems solid.
We remind you that on March 1 in Mykolaiv region, two children went missing on the Syniukha River, likely having fallen through the ice. The body of the second boy was found by rescuers today, March 2.
