Ukrainian student missing in Italy while on internship at a resort.
An event has occurred in Italy: 18-year-old Ukrainian Maria Bugaiova, who was interning at a tourism establishment in the Brindisi prefecture along with her classmates from the Bratislava University, has gone missing. According to Ansa, the owners of the establishment in the village of Medituro reported the girl's disappearance.
The last time Maria was seen was on Friday when she headed towards the Torre Guaceto nature reserve. She did not return for the night, and her mobile phone and passport were found in the student's room.
Her relatives of Ukrainian descent living in Ukraine have been informed of her disappearance and are in contact with diplomatic representatives for further search efforts. Search and rescue services, police, and civil protection volunteers utilizing drones and service dogs are involved in the search.
Second disappearance case of Ukrainians
This week, a nine-year-old Ukrainian girl named Valeria was also being searched for in Germany. The girl did not appear for classes at a German school after failing to take the bus for her school trip. The police discovered this fact thanks to video surveillance.
Maria's Ukrainian relatives are hopeful for her discovery, and the joint efforts of security services and volunteers provide support in this search. Search operations are being conducted for both cases of missing Ukrainians in Europe, aimed at the quickest possible investigation and discovery of the missing persons.
The incident that occurred in Italy remains unclear, as young Ukrainian Maria Bugaiova went missing during her internship. The situation with the nine-year-old Ukrainian girl in Germany also remains concerning. Relatives of both girls are confident that the joint efforts of search services will lead to their discovery and believe in a positive outcome.Read also
