On the night of October 17, Russian troops attacked energy facilities in the Mykolaiv region. This was reported by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military-Civil Administration, Vitaliy Kim.
In this region, air defense worked throughout the night to repel the enemy attack.
The attack led to a power outage. Energy workers have already restored supply to most consumers, but work is still ongoing to restore electricity for all.
Energy workers have already restored the majority of consumers, work continues. No casualties
Let us recall that yesterday in Mykolaiv and some areas of the region, the electricity supply was stopped. According to the latest data, 205 thousand people remain without power.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that Russian troops are preparing for attacks on nuclear energy facilities in Ukraine.
It was also reported that seven key substations necessary for the operation of nuclear power plants were identified as particularly important for the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Damage to these substations could not only lead to a halt of energy production at nuclear stations but also create a risk of emergency situations.
It is worth noting that Ukraine's energy system is preparing for the winter season with a high level of readiness due to the completion of planned maintenance at power plants.
