In the Mykolaiv region, more than 200,000 residents were left without power.

In Mykolaiv and part of the Mykolaiv region, electricity was cut off. According to «Mykolaivoblenergo», 205 thousand people were left without power as of 9:30.

According to the report, an emergency situation arose in the high-voltage networks, which led to the shutdown of the city of Mykolaiv and a significant part of the region, a total of about 272 thousand consumers.

Energy workers started emergency restoration work and managed to restore power supply to some consumers.

The head of the Mykolaiv OVA, Vitalii Kim, confirmed that the cause of the blackout was not shelling from Russia. According to him, the accident could be eliminated within a few hours.

Recall that earlier the city of Kherson was also left without power.

The Ministry of Energy denied the United Nations' forecast about the duration of power outages in winter in Ukraine. Officials in the government claim that there should be no power supply problems by the end of October and November. Moreover, they hope for an almost trouble-free winter, like last year.

NAEC «Energoatom» completed the scheduled maintenance for another nuclear power plant unit earlier than planned. Now all nine energy units on the territory controlled by Ukraine are ready to operate in autumn and winter.

Also, the European Commission is working on increasing electricity supplies to Ukraine. The G7 countries and other partners have raised over $4 billion for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
