In Odesa Region, memorial portraits on the graves of two Ukrainian soldiers were damaged
Law enforcement revealed a case where two 13-year-old boys damaged memorial portraits on the graves of two Ukrainian soldiers. This information was released by the Odesa police.
The incident took place in the Kurisivska hromada of the Berezivsky district. It was found that the teenagers were at the local cemetery. According to law enforcement, both boys belong to families that are registered as being in difficult life circumstances.
Investigators have entered the information about the incident into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations – it has been qualified under part 2 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (desecration of the burial place of a person who defended independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine and participated in measures to ensure national security)
The police are also determining the amount of material damages caused to the relatives of the fallen soldiers.
The court will consider the issue of holding the boys' parents accountable for failing to fulfill their responsibilities regarding their upbringing.
