Transportation Benefits — Who Will Travel for Free Starting September 1.
Starting September 1, 2025, two more categories of passengers will have the right to travel for free in public transport in Ukraine, despite the fact that most trips are paid.
Who Will Receive Free Travel Rights in September
According to the Official Portal of Kyiv, students of general education schools and cadets of military educational institutions temporarily lost their privileges for free travel from July 1 to August 31 due to the end of the academic year. However, from September 1 to June 30, they will receive a 75% discount when purchasing special tickets.
How to Save on Travel in Summer
Such tariffs for daytime students are in effect by order of the KMDA No. 399 dated March 5, 2020:
- 72.50 UAH — for 46 trips;
- 97.50 UAH — for 62 trips;
- 143.75 UAH — for 92 trips;
- 192.50 UAH — for 124 trips;
- 325 UAH — unlimited travel for a month;
- 162.50 UAH — unlimited for the second half of the month.
Ukrainian pensioners have certain social benefits, including free travel in public transport. It is also important to know that bus trips now involve compliance with certain rules, which were recently amended.
Starting September 1, 2025, students and cadets of military educational institutions will again have the right to free travel in public transport, allowing them to save significantly on trips.
