A Ukrainian woman, carrying €355,000 and $46,000 in a suitcase, was discovered by Polish customs officers. The passenger was traveling on the «Kyiv-Przemyśl» train. Initially, she submitted a currency declaration for the amount of €20,000, but during the inspection, it turned out that her cash significantly exceeded the declared amount.
The Ukrainian was fined 50,000 zlotys and a criminal case was opened. The customs-tax service emphasizes that customs authorities must be informed about cash transfers if their value equals or exceeds €10,000.
As a reminder, men who were illegally transporting people across the border were also detained in Ternopil. During the searches, cash, cars, and documents indicating illegal activities were seized.
The largest number of criminal cases regarding border crossings by Ukrainians is recorded in the Odessa region.
