Tragedy in Varash: driver hit a mother with a child in a stroller, the baby died
Today, January 21, a tragedy occurred in the city of Varash in the Rivne region - a driver hit a mother with a child in a stroller who were crossing the road at an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing. This was reported by the police of the Rivne region.
According to preliminary information, around 16:45 on Parkova Street, a 49-year-old resident of Varash, driving a Dacia, hit a 32-year-old local resident who was crossing the roadway at an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing with a stroller. As a result of the impact, the baby fell out of the stroller.
“The child was hospitalized in intensive care. However, the life of the boy, who was only a month old, could not be saved by the doctors: approximately an hour later he died. The woman initially was not injured, but she is still being examined by doctors,” the police of the Rivne region reported.
According to law enforcement officials, the driver of the car was sober. He explained that he was distracted by a phone call.
It is recalled that in Vinnytsia, a 22-year-old driver of a Mercedes car ran over two girls at a pedestrian crossing in the city center. The victims are students of a medical college.
Other accidents in Ukraine
As reported, on January 15, a traffic accident occurred on one of the streets in the city of Obukhiv, located in Kyiv region. Law enforcement established that a 50-year-old driver of a Hyundai vehicle, making a left turn maneuver, did not give way to a GAZ vehicle that was moving in the opposite direction. As a result, a collision of these vehicles occurred.
Also, in Kyiv on the morning of Friday, January 17, a traffic accident occurred involving a passenger car and a minibus. The accident took place on Revutskoho Street, near an unfinished gas station (at the Revutskoho-Akhmatova-Trostianetska intersection). A Chevrolet Aveo passenger car rammed into a Bogdan minibus.
