A mass outbreak of intestinal infection was detected in the Zakarpattia region after tourists visited the Shypit waterfall.

'The number of people who contracted acute intestinal infection and visited the Shypit waterfall has risen to 38',
This was reported by the press service of the Zakarpattia Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health on Facebook.
According to the data, 28 sick individuals were camping and participated in a festival near the waterfall, while the other 10 were on an excursion near Shypit. All are currently receiving medical assistance, but in most cases, the illness is severe. Doctors reported that people drank water from the waterfall for drinking and prepared meals on it.
How to avoid intestinal infection while vacationing
Doctors advise during vacations:
- not to consume unboiled water from open sources;
- to properly store food, especially in summer;
- to maintain personal hygiene;
- in case of symptoms of poisoning — consult a doctor.
