Former Deputy Prime Minister Charged: NABU Reveals Midas Scheme.
According to inkorr.com: New suspicion of illegal enrichment against former Deputy Prime Minister
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau has announced a new suspicion in the case of illegal enrichment of the former Deputy Prime Minister, referred to in detectives' recordings as 'Che Guevara'. This information has been confirmed by the NABU press service.
“The former Deputy Prime Minister has been informed of the suspicion of illegal enrichment,”- it is stated in the Bureau's release. According to sources in the media, it concerns Oleksiy Chernyshov.
Operation 'Midas': Scheme for transferring funds to high-ranking official
It is worth reminding that recently NABU and SAP documented a scheme for transferring funds to this high-ranking official as part of Operation 'Midas'. Law enforcement officials recorded the transfer of 1.2 million US dollars and almost 100 thousand euros, which were handed over directly in the office of the criminal organization or in a medical clinic.
The investigation has established that the former official was among those who visited the so-called 'laundromat' — a place where funds obtained through illegal means were legalized. The 'laundromat' was controlled by the leader of the criminal organization exposed by NABU and SAP.
Recent events indicate that anti-corruption agencies continue to actively fight corruption, uncovering new schemes of illegal enrichment and financial machinations at high government levels.
