Two soldiers demanded a bribe for service without combat: the court issued a decision.

Two soldiers promised a man, who wanted to join the National Guard of Ukraine under a contract, to serve without participating in combat actions. For this service, the offenders wanted to receive several thousand dollars, but they were exposed and brought to criminal responsibility.In the verdict of the Frankivsk District Court of Lviv, which was issued on August 6, it is noted that both defendants have been serving for a long time in one of the military units of the National Guard. In March of the current year, they assured a man who was interested in the conditions of service that they could arrange for him to join a unit located in the rear. The total cost of this service reached three thousand dollars. The victim reported the extortion to the law enforcement authorities and acted under their supervision. Both National Guardsmen were detained after the client transferred them the full payment.During the court hearing, the defendants admitted their guilt. For receiving the bribe, each of them has to pay a fine of 68 thousand hryvnias. The court's decision can still be appealed. It will come into force 30 days from the date of its announcement if the convicted persons do not file an appeal during this period.It should be reminded that in the Ternopil region, a man with a disability was fined for failing to appear at the military enlistment office. The victim succeeded in obtaining a ruling from the Territorial Center for Recruitment in court. We also reported on the verdict of a woman who was smuggling men to Romania.
