Pension Supplement of 570 Hryvnias: Expert Reveals Unexpected Nuance of Payments.
Pension law expert Serhiy Korobkin pointed out that the mechanism for indexing pensions and age supplements in Ukraine may lead to a slight increase in payments for retirees. According to Korobkin, only the basic pension amount is increased during the indexing process, while the supplements are calculated after this process.
Currently, Ukraine has a system of age supplements to pensions. Citizens who reach 70 years receive an additional payment of 300 Hryvnias. Upon reaching 75 years, the amount of the supplement increases to 456 Hryvnias, which effectively means an increase of 156 Hryvnias.
Retirees who reach 80 years receive a supplement of 570 Hryvnias, which results in an increase in pension by 114 Hryvnias compared to the previous age category.
Korobkin emphasizes that the real effect of such supplements may turn out to be less tangible than retirees expect. This is related to the structure of the pension payment and its components, as well as situations where an increase in one supplement may be accompanied by a simultaneous decrease in another by a similar amount.
This is especially noticeable in cases where the basic pension amount is insignificant, making even the indexing process almost imperceptible for the recipient.
It has also become known about the real pensions of Ukrainian officials and judges.
