Naftogaz attracted $2.5 billion for gas imports: how preparations for the heating season are underway.
According to inkorr.com: The state company 'Naftogaz' together with international partners invested 2.5 billion US dollars in the purchase of gas for the heating season in Ukraine, as reported by the company's press service.
Sources of funding
This amount consists of 1 billion dollars owned by 'Naftogaz', and 1.5 billion dollars raised from international financial institutions. The head of the board of NJSC 'Naftogaz Ukraine' Serhiy Koretsky emphasized the critical situation with gas extraction in the country, which urges substantial increases in energy resource imports.
'Before the heating season, the enemy is likely to attack the gas infrastructure again, and this is terrorism in its purest form,' noted Koretsky.
Readiness for winter
Today 'Naftogaz' has already signed contracts for 95% of the necessary gas to start the heating season, indicating readiness for winter. The attraction of international funds demonstrates the trust of the global community in Ukraine and underscores the importance of energy security for both the country and all of Europe.
'Naftogaz's investments together with international partners in the purchase of gas are an important step to ensure Ukraine's energy stability in these challenging times when the energy sector is facing heightened tensions.
