Ukraine Spends $5,000 Per Soldier on Training, Lawmaker Reveals.
The Cost of Training Mobilized Troops in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: According to Ukrainian lawmaker Vadym Ivchenko, the country allocates $5,000 for the training of each individual soldier. This figure covers the expenses borne by the state during a 50-day training program at a military center. Ivchenko, who serves on the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defense, and intelligence, also highlighted potential savings through the recruitment of foreign fighters.
'Do you know how much we spend to train one soldier at the training center? Approximately 5 thousand dollars,' - Vadym Ivchenko
He emphasized that by bringing in foreigners who already possess the necessary combat skills, Ukraine could avoid these costs. 'If we pay 5 thousand dollars for a ready-made fighter who knows how to handle weapons, shoot, and handle tactical situations, we effectively save that 5 thousand,' Ivchenko added.
Streamlining Military Training Expenditures
Ukraine's spending on soldier preparation is substantial, making cost optimization a key factor in maintaining efficient defense budgets. Exploring alternatives—such as integrating experienced foreign recruits—could ease the financial burden on the state, especially as the conflict continues. This issue remains central to Ukraine's military strategy and resource management as it navigates ongoing defense needs.
