“The time has come to break ties”. Priests of the UOC MP from Chernihiv region addressed Onufriy.
The rector of the Church of All Saints of Chernihiv of the Chernihiv Diocese of the UOC, Archpriest Petro Kaznovetskyi, and the clergy of the Sosnytsia deanery of the Chernihiv Diocese of the UOC appealed to Metropolitan Onufriy with a request to break relations with the ROC. This is reported on the church's page and local media.
At the beginning of October, the rector of the church from Chernihiv wrote a letter-address to Onufriy, in which he called Putin "the forerunner of the antichrist" and accused the patriarch of the ROC, Kirill, of blessing the murders of Ukrainians.
The priest of the Moscow Patriarchate from Chernihiv, Petro, stated that the UOC has no right to remain part of the ROC and be an accomplice to the inhumane actions of the Russian hierarchs.
On October 4, the clergy of the Sosnytsia deanery of the Chernihiv diocese appealed in writing to Onufriy, noting the involvement of the ROC in the war in Ukraine.
"... the Time has come to break ties with the church that supports and blesses war and the killing of Ukrainians, sows death, and does not give life. We firmly declare that henceforth the ROC is no longer a brotherly and friendly church to us, and we do not want to be together in one Local Church ..."
The clergy are asking Metropolitan Onufriy to officially leave the ROC, all its synods, councils, and commissions.
The Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC MP again failed to disprove the canonical connection with the Moscow Patriarchate.
The All-Ukrainian Council of Churches supported the ban of the Moscow Patriarchate.
