NATO Labels Russia the Top Threat as 75% of Ukraine’s Patriot Missiles Come from Alliance.
NATO Report Highlights Support for Ukraine
According to UATV: A report on the Alliance’s activities was released on March 26, 2025, at NATO headquarters in Brussels, focusing on aid to Ukraine and the threat posed by Russia. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized that Russia represents the most serious danger to North Atlantic Treaty Organization member states. He also noted that allies continue to provide decisive support to Ukraine, as their own security is closely linked to that of the Ukrainian state.
Military Assistance to Ukraine
The report mentions that in 2025, allies delivered the largest volume of military aid to Ukraine to date. Programs such as 'Eastern Shield' and 'Baltic Shield' are direct responses to Russian aggression. A key role in equipping Ukraine with military hardware is played by the PURL initiative, which facilitates the supply of American weaponry to the country. Currently, 75% of all missiles for Ukraine’s Patriot batteries have been delivered through the PURL program, while 90% of munitions for other air defense systems have also arrived thanks to this initiative.
Mark Rutte further stated that deliveries of critically needed equipment for Ukraine, including interceptors, are ongoing. These actions reaffirm NATO’s commitment to supporting Ukraine amid the heightened threat from Russia. The Alliance continues to take measures to ensure its collective security and stability within the region.
This report underscores the importance of international backing for Ukraine as Russian aggression intensifies, endangering stability across Europe. NATO’s support not only strengthens Ukraine’s defensive capabilities but also demonstrates the Alliance’s unity in countering external threats—a critical factor for maintaining peace and security on the continent.
