The scientist predicts when winter will disappear in Ukraine.
Climate Change in Ukraine
Ukrainian climatologist, IPCC participant, and member of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA Svitlana Krakovska reported that significant changes in winters are expected in Ukraine. According to her, by 2040 they will become warmer.
This was stated by Svitlana Krakovska in an interview with Oleksii Sukhanov.
Winters in Ukraine
Until 1990, Ukraine had real winters, especially in the northeast of the country.
Currently, winters have significantly changed: less snow and higher air temperatures.
Krakovska provided temperature forecasts for January: in Kharkiv -4...-6 °C, in Kyiv and Lviv 0...-2 °C. However, a positive temperature is expected in the Odesa region. Mountainous areas will remain cold.
Climate in Kyiv
The capital will remain one of the warmest regions, thanks to asphalt and many buildings.
Some regions begin the 'climatic spring' at the end of January, but in the east — in February.
In addition, Krakovska warned that the duration of summer in Ukraine may increase to 180 days.
Tomorrow, forecasters promise dry and sunny weather, with possible rain in only two regions.
According to Ukrainian climatologist Svitlana Krakovska, by 2040 Ukraine can expect warming winters and an increase in the length of the summer season. Climate changes have already begun, as evidenced by rising temperatures in winter and the early onset of 'climatic spring' in some regions of the country.Read also
