City named to be first to test 5G.
Lviv will be the first city to test the 5G network
The first city to test the 5G network will be Lviv. In the event that the equipment does not affect military operations, the project will be scaled to Kyiv and Odesa. This is reported by 'Economic Truth'.
Thus, immediately after the announcement of the start of 5G testing in a pilot mode, several media sources in the telecom market reported that Lviv will be the first city to undergo this testing.
Most likely, the deployment of the new technology will initially be carried out at several base stations rather than covering the entire city.
Let us recall, a pilot project for the use of 5G is starting in Ukraine, which will last for two years. During the tests, the NCEC and the Ukrainian State Center of Radio Frequencies will check whether the 5G equipment does not affect the operation of military networks,” the statement reads.
5G is capable of transmitting data 10 times faster than 4G. The pilot project, according to him, is one of the key steps towards the full launch of 5G in Ukraine, which the government plans to complete by 2030.
It is worth noting that on May 27 of this year, a test launch of the 5G communication network took place in Ukraine for the first Time. It is noted that the Promprylad innovation center in Ivano-Frankivsk, the Vodafone office in Kyiv, and the Nokia office in Helsinki made a call using 5G and tested the quality of the connection.
By the way, in 2021, the government began preparing Ukrainians for the transition to the next-generation communication. For this purpose, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, together with Huawei and Vodafone, launched the 5G Lab – a technological platform with 5G network coverage.
