Release of the 'Kyrylo Kozhumyaka' Coin

According to Novyny.live: The National Bank of Ukraine has unveiled a new commemorative coin titled 'Ukrainian Folk Tales. Kyrylo Kozhumyaka,' with a face value of 5 hryvnias. Minted from nickel silver, the coin will have a limited run of up to 75,000 pieces, each presented in a special souvenir packaging. This release is part of a broader effort to celebrate and preserve Ukraine's rich cultural heritage through currency.

The coin's design was created by artist Alisa Ivanova, while sculptors Volodymyr Demianenko and Volodymyr Atamanchuk brought the imagery to life. Kyrylo Kozhumyaka, a symbol of inner strength and courage, takes center stage on this new issue.

Storytelling Through Design

The obverse side of the coin depicts scenes from the tale: Kozhumyaka's daily labor, children pleading for rescue, and the abduction of a princess. The reverse side captures the climactic battle between Kozhumyaka and a dragon, emphasizing the hero's legendary status.
