Do not ignore: drivers warned about an important sign on the road.
Ukrainian drivers have been informed about an important road sign that should not be ignored.
This is reported in the AutoTema story.
Road safety is one of the most important aspects of driving, and knowledge of road signs plays a key role. In recent years, a new warning sign has appeared on Ukrainian roads, which, unfortunately, is not familiar to all drivers. However, it deserves special attention.
It concerns the "Accident-Prone Area" sign, which warns drivers about approaching a road section with an increased number of accidents. This sign is installed 50-100 meters before a dangerous section of the road within the city and 150-300 meters outside populated areas.
"This is a warning sign that indicates it warns about a section that experiences the highest number of accidents, i.e., an accident-prone area. Should one respond to it? Of course! Why, you may ask? It is not installed without reason. If many accidents have occurred there, the driver needs to be more cautious. This means there could be an intersection, a dangerous turn, or another situation where cars constantly emerge, which may suddenly appear on the road. Therefore, in such cases, one really needs to concentrate more attention and be more careful," the expert explained.
He also explained why many drivers are not familiar with this sign. The reason is that it was approved 10 years ago but was put into operation only a few years ago, and it is not included in the exams in driving schools. Therefore, many drivers who study the rules from books, get an app on their phone, and constantly study the tickets, believe they will need such a ticket in the MREO. But they have not encountered this sign yet.
"Therefore, everyone who learns this way, remember: this sign means increased danger on the road. It is installed on both sides of the road 50-100 meters in populated areas and 150-300 meters outside populated areas. So if you see this sign, be prepared for a section ahead of you where a car may suddenly appear and overtake you or do something else," the story notes.
Let's remind that evasive drivers will be deprived of the right to drive a car.
