Head of the regional center for disease control and prevention Natalia Ivanchenco-Timko talked about mushroom poisoning. According to her, there have been no cases in the Lviv region this year, but ten cases were recorded in 2024.
Natalia Ivanchenco-Timko shared this in a comment for Novyny.LIVE.
'Almost every year, people seek medical assistance, and they visit various healthcare institutions with signs of poisoning, and they also have a history of mushroom consumption,'- noted Ivanchenco-Timko.
According to her, the clinical signs vary. She named the symptoms that people report:
- yellowing of the skin;
- nausea;
- vomiting;
- severe abdominal pain;
- disruption of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
The head of the regional center for disease control and prevention noted that it all depends on which poisonous mushroom the person consumed.
'Sometimes a mushroom can look edible, which even experienced mushroom pickers cannot distinguish. If health problems occur, one must immediately seek medical help, as time is of the essence,'- she added.
It is reminded that in the Kyiv region there is a that can cause poisoning.
Earlier, there was a in one of the restaurants in Lviv. 76 people were hospitalized.
The occurrence of mushroom poisoning can become a serious problem, as symptoms can be various and severe. People should be very careful when gathering and consuming mushrooms, and at the slightest suspicion of poisoning, they should immediately contact specialists.Read also
