Fire Breaks Out at Industrial Site in Khmelnytskyi Following Overnight Strike.
Strike on Khmelnytskyi
According to Novyny.live: In the early hours of April 1, Russian forces launched an attack on the city of Khmelnytskyi, sparking a blaze at a local industrial facility. Air raid sirens sounded as Ukraine's air defense units moved to counter the incoming threat. The Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning at 1:20 AM about a drone heading toward the city, with an updated alert following at 2:50 AM.
Khmelnytskyi Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn reported that windows in residential buildings were damaged during the assault. As of now, no casualties have been reported. This incident follows a pattern of recent aggression: on March 28, the region experienced loud explosions from Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles launched by MiG-31K aircraft, and on the night of March 29, an attack caused power outages across the area.
Impact of the Attack
The immediate consequences of the overnight shelling on April 1 underscore the persistent threat posed by Russian forces and highlight the critical need for local emergency services to remain on high alert.
This strike is part of the ongoing conflict that continues to endanger civilians in Ukraine. Repeated attacks on infrastructure and residential zones make clear that the danger from occupying forces remains severe. Local authorities and emergency response teams are working to enhance their preparedness and protect the population from further harm.
