Russia Launches Large-Scale Attack on Ukraine
According to UATV: In the early hours of July 4, Russian forces launched a combined missile and drone assault on Ukrainian territory. The attack originated from multiple launch points, including Crimea and the Black Sea, and involved a significant number of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Details of the Attack
The assault utilized the following weaponry:
- One Iskander-M ballistic missile,
- Kh-59/69 guided missiles,
- 86 attack drones.
The drones were launched from various locations within Russia, including:
- Bryansk,
- Kursk,
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk,
- Millerovo,
- Oryol,
- territory in Donetsk Oblast controlled by pro-Russian forces.
By 08:30, Ukrainian forces had shot down 69 of the enemy drones. However, two missiles and 17 drones managed to hit their targets across 16 different locations. Debris from the downed UAVs fell in five separate areas. The operation involved aircraft, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups.
This attack is part of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has now lasted over a year. The use of advanced technology, such as drones and precision missile systems, highlights the escalating nature of the warfare, with potential implications for regional security and military strategies on both sides. The increased frequency of such assaults and the corresponding defensive responses, including the interception of drones, point to heightened activity along the front lines, which could significantly influence the conflict's future trajectory.
