The program for installing solar panels on apartment buildings in Kyiv continues. Over 200 million hryvnias have been allocated from the city budget for this program. This was reported by energy and housing expert Oleh Popenko.

According to him, such expenses are irrational, especially in anticipation of the heating season. "Kyiv allocates 3 million hryvnias for the installation of solar panels for one building. At the same Time, in winter, the efficiency of these systems is no more than 10% of the nominal capacity," he noted.

According to the "70 to 30" program, the city covers 70% of the cost of installing solar panels, with the rest paid by the condominium associations. After installation, the associations of co-owners will be able to sell electricity to the grid.

The expert believes that such funds could be used more effectively. For the same amount, heat meters could be installed in 25 buildings or charging stations for generators in 30 buildings.

Recall that Popenko also noted that approximately 20% of apartment buildings in Kyiv do not have heat meters, causing residents to overpay for heating by 10-15 hryvnias for each square meter of housing.
