Germany cancels social benefits for Ukrainians: who will lose payments.
According to inkorr.com: The German government has decided to suspend the increased social benefits for Ukrainian refugees who do not wish to work without valid reasons. This decision aims to help Ukrainians integrate into German society more quickly and reduce the financial burden on the state budget.
New conditions for social assistance
Previously, Ukrainians who arrived in Germany due to the war received higher social benefits than other asylum seekers. However, the new requirements stipulate that those who refuse to work without proper justification will receive less assistance and face stricter conditions.
Duration of assistance
Therefore, Ukrainians who remain in Germany until April 1, 2025, will continue to receive some assistance, but after the introduction of the new rules, the amount will be reduced. The date when these changes will take effect has not yet been announced.
These changes are driven by the German government's efforts to optimize the social assistance system in the context of a massive influx of refugees. Those who cannot or do not wish to confirm their intentions to find work will be affected by the change in rules, so it is important for refugees to be aware of the new conditions and prepare for them.
