Russian attack on October 10: which regions of Ukraine have introduced power outages.
According to inkorr.com: As a result of the missile and drone attack that took place on the night of October 10, the Ukrainian energy system sustained new damages. According to NEC 'Ukrenergo', power supply was lost in several regions, and emergency outages were introduced to stabilize the situation.
Situation in affected regions
The most serious consequences of the attack were felt in Kyiv and the region, as well as in Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Chernihiv regions. Restrictions also affected the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In Chernihiv region, a scheduled hourly outage has already been introduced due to serious damage to the energy infrastructure in previous days.
'Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore the damaged equipment to operation as soon as possible. Emergency recovery work is ongoing in each of the affected regions,' the company emphasized.
Electricity consumption remains high
Despite the attacks, electricity consumption remains at an elevated level, according to seasonal indicators. Experts explain that this is supported by cloudy weather, which reduces the efficiency of household solar power stations and increases the load on the overall power supply network. Maximum consumption was recorded on October 9 during the morning hours at a previous level.
'We ask you to refrain from simultaneously turning on several powerful electrical appliances throughout this day,' advised 'Ukrenergo'. The company warns that the situation in the energy system may change, so Ukrainians are urged to follow the announcements from their local energy suppliers.
As a result of the massive attack on Ukraine's energy system, many regions received an important warning regarding the need to use resources carefully and avoid excessive electricity consumption during this critical period. In the context of network damages, electricity consumption remains high, so it is essential to adhere to safety measures and rationally use resources while following updates from the energy companies.
