Stricter ID Rules for Parcel Pickup at Nova Poshta: Which Shipments Now Require a Passport.
Logistics Provider Nova Poshta Updates Its Services
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's leading logistics company, Nova Poshta, has tightened identification requirements for certain parcel pickups. Effective immediately, recipients must present a valid ID for shipments with a declared value exceeding 30,000 UAH. Similarly, any parcel with cash-on-delivery fees of 5,000 UAH or more will also require identity verification.
Personal documents that must be handed over directly to the recipient are likewise not released without proper identification. The list of accepted IDs for parcel collection includes:
- Ukrainian national passport
- Temporary ID certificate
- Permanent residence permit
- International passport for travel abroad
- Stateless person's travel document for abroad
- Foreign national passport
Notably, the electronic version of the passport from the 'Diia' mobile app is also accepted.
Expanded Services and Return Policies
In addition to these rule changes, Nova Poshta has broadened its offerings by launching parcel delivery from the United States to Ukraine. Delivery time for these shipments starts at seven days. For domestic services, the cost of shipping a driver's license varies: 60 UAH under the 'Local' rate and 70 UAH under the 'Ukraine-wide' rate.
If a parcel is not collected, it is returned to the sender, who then covers the transportation fees. Nova Poshta holds unclaimed parcels for 30 days before disposing of them. Shipments weighing up to 30 kg are returned without a fee if not picked up within 5 to 7 days.
Adhering to these new ID requirements is now a critical step for receiving shipments at Nova Poshta, especially when large sums or sensitive documents are involved.
The implementation of stricter rules for document presentation at Nova Poshta underscores the company's commitment to security and transparency in serving its customers. It also reflects a growing need to monitor financial transactions and protect consumer rights. The expansion of international services, particularly deliveries from the US, opens new opportunities for Ukrainian consumers, but also carries the responsibility of meeting all requirements when collecting orders.
