New rules: how to get a housing rental subsidy now and what the amount is.
Ukraine reminded about the conditions for receiving a housing rental subsidy for internally displaced persons (IDPs). According to Cabinet resolution No. 1225, all IDPs have the opportunity to receive compensation for housing rental for two years. To do this, it is necessary to submit an application and conclude a lease agreement. The decision on the subsidy is made within ten working days, after which the money is paid.
The program aims to alleviate the financial burden on IDPs who had to leave their homes due to military actions or occupation. This assistance allows those who have been forced to move multiple times due to the shifting front to receive financial support.
The conditions for receiving the subsidy stipulate that the housing of IDPs must have an area of less than 13.65 square meters per person. The maximum limits for calculating the subsidy are 130 square meters for an apartment and 230 square meters for a house. The total income of the family is also taken into account when calculating the amount of the subsidy.
The author of the article points out that the program has shortcomings, including issues with document processing and restrictions in calculating the subsidy. It also notes that the average rental cost of housing is inadequately reflected in the program. The introduction of corrective coefficients and increasing the maximum area for calculating the subsidy may be a more effective solution.
