New rules for the accounting of medical cannabis: what the government has changed.
Changes in the rules for accounting for the cultivation and circulation of medical cannabis
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduces important changes to the resolution that regulates the accounting for the cultivation and circulation of cannabis for medical purposes. These changes aim to establish an effective and transparent control system.
Simplification of the accounting system
The accounting for medical cannabis harvests in the electronic system has been excluded. The requirement for accounting for the transit transportation of plants and their products, planting of plants and planting material, as well as the processes of harvest collection, sorting, and processing, has also been abolished.
New accounting requirements
Accounting entities are required to enter information about the premises where each accounting object is stored. It is necessary to indicate the categories of cannabis seeds and planting material. It has also become mandatory to account for the movement of accounting objects and operations for the collection and processing of plant raw materials.
Expansion of the scope of accounting
Operations for sampling cannabis plants now extend to other accounting objects. The packaging of finished medicinal products is also included in the expanded list of accounting objects.
Industry experts expect that these changes will help optimize processes in the medical cannabis industry, reduce the bureaucratic burden on producers, and ensure better quality control of products. The changes will come into effect after the official publication of the resolution and will have a significant impact on the participants in the medical cannabis market.
