New GVS mechanism: stolen grain from Ukraine to be tracked in Klaipeda.

Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval, during the Berlin Conference of Agriculture Ministers, together with colleagues from the United Kingdom and Lithuania, signed an updated Memorandum for the launch of a unique Grain Verification Scheme (GVS) to combat the illegal export of Ukrainian grain from occupied territories.
The Memorandum for the launch of the unique GVS system to combat the illegal export of Ukrainian grain from occupied territories is the first step at the ministerial level in the implementation of a strategic agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, which will serve as the foundation of our cooperation for the next hundred years. The pilot implementation of this initiative will take place in Lithuania - at the port of Klaipeda, which will become a key hub for verifying the origin of Ukrainian agricultural products,' emphasized Vitaliy Koval.
The agreement provides for: transparent control over grain: GVS will allow identifying stolen grain and stopping its illegal transportation; an innovative database from the United Kingdom: advanced technologies for determining the place of cultivation will help protect the interests of Ukrainian farmers and transparency in the market.
'This cooperation is an example of how Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Lithuania together create new standards of safety and justice in the agricultural sector, which will impact the future of food security for the entire world,' the minister noted.
