Nissan has unveiled the new 2026 Sentra: what has changed in the affordable sedan.
According to Korrespondent.net: Nissan has introduced the updated version of the Sentra model for 2026. This model is significant for the brand since, after the potential discontinuation of the Versa production, the Sentra will become the most affordable car in their lineup.
Changes in dimensions and design
The car's dimensions have slightly changed: the length has increased to 4656 mm, and the height has risen to 1445 mm, while the width remains at 1816 mm. The wheelbase is now 2705 mm, which is 2.5 mm shorter than the previous version.
The exterior of the model has undergone significant changes: slender arrow-shaped headlights, an elegant fastback-style roofline, and a minimalist dashboard design resemble the third generation Leaf.
Technical specifications
Under the hood remains a 2.0-liter atmospheric gasoline engine producing 149 hp and 198 Nm of torque, paired with an Xtronic CVT and front-wheel drive.
The expected fuel consumption is 8.1 L/100 km in the city cycle, 6.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 7.1 L/100 km in mixed mode, which is slightly worse than the previous 2025 Sentra version.

Trim levels and innovations
The model will be available in four trims: S, SV, SL, and SR. Among the innovations: a standard 12.3-inch multimedia system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (wired), as well as a 7-inch display in the instrument panel. In higher trims, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and wireless smartphone integration are available.
The SL trim offers enhanced comfort: heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, auto-dimming mirror, 17-inch wheels, and eco-leather seats with stitching. The SR version receives sporty elements: a dark grille, spoiler, unique bumpers, black side skirts, 18-inch wheels, and two-tone coloring.
The updated Sentra will be available for sale at the end of 2025. The price has not yet been announced but is expected to be slightly higher than the current $22,785.
Nissan has also unveiled the X-Trail Nismo.
