Merz on Peace with Russia: Success Depends on the Honesty of the Kremlin.
According to ТСН: The Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, reported on ongoing consultations with partners regarding support for the peace process, emphasizing the importance of openness from Russia.
On the social network X, he noted that the participants discussed further steps to advance the peaceful resolution and agreed on the positions of the allies. Merz stressed that the success of diplomatic efforts depends on the honest and transparent behavior of all participants.
“Today we held further consultations with our European and Canadian partners within the framework of the Berlin format. We are pushing the peace process forward. Now, transparency and honesty are required from everyone, including Russia,” said the head of the German government.
In addition, following dialogue with his Ukrainian counterpart, Trump emphasized that the end of the war is significantly nearing, estimating the likelihood of termination of agreements at 95%. The American leader confirmed that he held substantial consultations with key allies in Europe and had a conversation with Putin.
These consultations indicate an intensification of international efforts to achieve peace. German diplomats and their partners aim to develop a coordinated strategy that would encourage all parties to take constructive actions, which could significantly impact the future of the conflict in the region.
