Zelensky: Peace Agreement Ready at 90%, Decisive 10% Depends on the World.
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, emphasized in his New Year's address that the world is closer to peace than ever before, but this depends on the determination of our partners and reliable security guarantees. He noted that the peace agreement is ready at 90%, with the remaining 10% playing a decisive role for Ukraine, Europe, and the world in general.
Text of the New Year's Address
Dear Ukrainians! The New Year will soon arrive. I would give everything to say in this address that peace will prevail in a matter of minutes. But, unfortunately, I cannot claim that. However, we are doing everything possible to achieve peace.
I returned to Kyiv yesterday after nearly 50 hours on the road. The peace agreement is ready at 90%. Only 10% remain. And these are not just numbers. These are the 10% that can determine the fate of peace, the fate of Ukraine, and Europe. These are 10% for saving millions of lives. These are 10% of determination needed for full peace.
I urge all of us to be on the same wavelength, to understand reality, and to be armed not only on the battlefield but also with the truth. What does Ukraine want? Peace? Yes. But not at any cost. We want an end to the war, but not the end of Ukraine. Yes, we are tired, but that does not mean we are ready to give up.
Throughout 1407 days of full-scale war, we have not surrendered. Ukraine continues to fight every day, often in conditions without light and without sleep, but always with unity on the path to peace.
Why is the war still ongoing? The answer lies in the neighboring country. Can Russia end the war? Yes. Does it want to? No. And the world can force it to do so. But pressure is needed for this.
“Leave Donbas, and everything will end.” This is how the deception sounds in translation from Russian.
Trusting Russia at its word is a verdict on international security. We continue to fight for our arguments to be heard. Intentions must become reality, be fixed. Budapest guarantees will not satisfy us. I will sign only a strong agreement.
I am grateful to every leader who supports Ukraine. We have only two options – either the world stops Russia's war, or Russia drags the world into its war.
Are they aware of this in Europe? Partially. Are they aware of this everywhere? No. But we are working to ensure that everyone realizes our importance for European security.
We feel support not only in Europe but also far beyond it, from Japan to Canada. I thank everyone who supports Ukraine.
Dear people!Millions of us are waiting for the New Year. And despite all the difficulties, we will celebrate. For our warriors, for all who give their lives for Ukraine, and for the peace we all strive for.
Russia must end the war when it finds a reason for peace greater than the desire to fight. Therefore, we must hold on for one more day and be one step ahead. I believe that together we will celebrate victory.
Dear Ukrainians! We want peace very much. And although it will not come by itself, we will fight for it. I wish all of us that in 2026 it will be quiet and calm.
Happy New Year, dear people! Glory to Ukraine!
This address of the president is an important confirmation of Ukraine's determination to achieve peace, hoping for the support of the international community. Every word is addressed not only to the internal audience but also to the global community, encouraging it to become more actively involved in resolving the conflict. It is expected that these messages will resonate in the hearts of people around the world, strengthening collective security.
