President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine requested to equip 10 military brigades to counter Russian aggression, but the West provided only two and a half brigades. Zelensky made this statement in an interview with the British television channel Sky News.

According to the president, the main problem is equipping soldiers with weapons and equipment, not the number of available troops.

'They (partners - ed.) talk about mobilization, but the real problem is with the 10 brigades that our partners did not equip. I have been asking them for more than a year that we need to equip these brigades. We made this decision with the United States and European allies, and today Europe and the United States have fully equipped two and a half brigades,' he said.

Noting this, Zelensky emphasized that such a situation arose due to 'bureaucracy and decisions' that always occur during war.

'Someone asked me about mobilization, and I do not want to claim that this is the position of some leaders in Europe. Saying that young people are needed, etc. And I replied: do you want someone to go to death without weapons?', - the president added.
