Occupiers struck the location of police officers in Kharkiv: a police colonel died, many injured

Russian occupiers precisely struck the location of police officers in the center of Kharkiv with two missiles, one officer died, and 26 police officers – were wounded. This was reported by the head of the National Police Ivan Vyhivsky.

«Today the Russian enemy precisely struck the location of police officers in the center of Kharkiv with two missiles – as a result of the attack, a policeman died, 26 police officers and four civilians were wounded», – reported Vyhivsky.

According to him, the deceased – police colonel Andriy Matviyenko.

As reported by the head of the Main Department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region Volodymyr Timoshko, Andriy Matviyenko died from severe shrapnel and explosive wounds due to an enemy strike on the city, which occurred around 16:15 today. He was only 40 years old.

According to the head of the National Police, law enforcement officers are working at the scene, providing assistance at the site of the hit and documenting the latest war crime of the Russians.

A US Congress delegation arrived in Kyiv

A bipartisan delegation of the US House of Representatives arrived in Kyiv and started the visit with a meeting with representatives of the National Police.  This was reported by the US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink on social media X.

«Welcome to Kyiv, Mike Rogers, Jerry Carl, and Mike Quigley! Our first stop was the National Police to see firsthand how US assistance supports freedom and democracy in Ukraine», – noted the diplomat.

The USA announced a new aid package for Ukraine

The USA will send Ukraine weapons worth $425 million as part of a new military aid package. This is reported by the US Department of Defense. It is noted that the military aid package includes air defense interceptors, ammunition for missile systems and artillery, armored vehicles, and anti-tank weapons.

The list of weapons included in the aid package:

  • ammunition for Nasams air defense systems;
  • Stinger MANPADS missiles;
  • equipment and ammunition for UAVs;
  • air-to-ground class ammunition;
  • Himars MLRS ammunition;
  • 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells;
  • TOW anti-tank guided missile rockets;
  • Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
  • Stryker armored personnel carriers;
  • small arms and ammunition;
  • medical equipment;
  • equipment and ammunition for obstacle elimination;
  • spare parts, support equipment, services, training, and transport.

Kim Jong un ordered North Korea to assist the Russian army from the start of the full-scale invasion

The North Korean dictator Kim Jong un instructed to support and assist the Russian army from the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Korea Choe Son Hui, according to Russian media.

«Kim Jong un gave instructions for us to consistently and strongly support and assist the Russian army and people in their sacred war», – she said.

Also, the head of North Korea's MFA stated that her country  will «firmly stand alongside the Russians until the victorious day».

Bloomberg: Russia captured the largest Ukrainian territory within a week since the beginning of the year

Last week, Russian occupying forces captured over 200 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory, the most at any point this year. This was reported by Bloomberg. According to the publication, the Russian army is gaining speed in its advance in eastern Ukraine, putting more pressure on the U.S. and European allies of Kyiv for military aid.

Over 200 square kilometers were added to the territory captured during the exhausting summer offensive, which caused huge losses to Russian troops and equipment.

According to Bloomberg Intelligence estimates based on changes recorded by the DeepState service, maintained jointly with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, since August 6, Russia has captured 1146 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory, which is roughly a quarter more than in the first seven months of the year.
