According to ТСН: The situation in the energy system of Ukraine remains complicated, especially in border and front-line regions that are constantly under attack from Russia.

Challenges in the regions

Alexander Gavva, General Director of the Market Operator, notes that the biggest problems are observed in areas where the enemy can strike from close range. This leads to significant destruction of energy infrastructure.

"Currently, the situation in the energy system remains complex. First and foremost, we are talking about front-line and border regions, where the range for enemy strikes is minimal, and, as a result, the damage to energy infrastructure facilities is much greater. Over the past day, the enemy attacked the energy infrastructure of the Kharkiv region," said Gavva.

Gavva also reported that, as a result of the attacks, energy supply in the region has worsened. In addition, Russian troops struck energy facilities in the Chernihiv region for two consecutive nights.

"This complicates emergency recovery work and, unfortunately, has resulted in most consumers in the city of Slavutych remaining without electricity," he said.

Recovery work

The head of the Market Operator also noted that recovery work is ongoing both in the regions affected by recent shelling and in areas that sustained damage during previous attacks.

"Recovery work is ongoing in various regions, including Kyiv and Odesa. Meanwhile, this morning, in certain areas of Kyiv region, forced emergency power outages were still applied, and in Odesa region, the distribution system operator continues to impose network restrictions," Gavva added.

It is worth noting that earlier it was reported that hourly electricity disconnection schedules are being introduced throughout Ukraine.

All this indicates serious challenges faced by the country's energy system. Despite the measures taken, difficulties in energy supply, especially in front-line areas, require prompt response and support from the state and international partners. Restoration of energy infrastructure must become a priority for ensuring stability and security in Ukraine.
