Odesa Allocates 41.5 Million Hryvnias for Mobile Shelters on Beaches and Heating Networks.
Odesa's Plan for Mobile Shelters
According to Novyny.live: The city of Odesa has set aside substantial municipal funds to deploy mobile shelters for both beach areas and heat supply infrastructure. A tender for the purchase was launched on March 18, with an estimated budget of 41,538,950 hryvnias. This initiative comes amid ongoing efforts to bolster public safety and protect critical services in the port city.
The procurement covers 13 structures of varying capacities. The planned units include:
- 5 shelters for 50 people each;
- 3 shelters for 25 people each;
- one shelter each for 20, 15, and 10 people;
- two shelters for 5 people each.
All units must be brand-new, manufactured in 2026, and come with a minimum warranty of 36 months. Delivery is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2026.
Beachfront Shelter Installation Project
As part of the broader plan, eight mobile shelters will be installed along Odesa's coastline. Approximately 35 million hryvnias have been allocated specifically for these beachfront units, which will accommodate between 45 and 135 people each. Installation is expected to be finished by June 1, 2026.
Separately, Odesa has also earmarked hundreds of millions of hryvnias for major road repairs in 2026. To fully protect the city's critical infrastructure, over 7 billion hryvnias are needed. These steps are part of a larger strategy to enhance security and safeguard residents amid modern challenges.
The planned deployment of mobile shelters in Odesa is part of the city's broader strategy to ensure public safety and protect critical infrastructure.
With growing threats, the need for such shelters has become increasingly urgent, as they provide safe conditions for people during emergencies. This project also underscores the local government's commitment to improving infrastructure and raising safety standards for both residents and tourists.
