This 'luxury tax' applies to vehicles less than five years old with a value exceeding 3.2 million Ukrainian hryvnias. Porsche and Mercedes-Benz models dominated the luxury segment, comprising almost 90% of the premium vehicles registered. The Porsche Taycan was the single most popular luxury model in 2025, solidifying its leading position.
As of mid-February 2026, the average price for a one-bedroom apartment in Odesa was approximately $47,500. This price point suggests relative stability in the local real estate market, even as spending on luxury automobiles rises.
The increase in luxury car registrations in Odesa mirrors national trends, where electric vehicles are gaining substantial ground in the premium sector. This shift may indicate growing purchasing power and evolving consumer preferences towards environmentally conscious options. The concurrent stability of Odesa's real estate market, amidst rising automotive expenditures, could suggest that local residents are also seeking to invest capital in property and other tangible assets.
