Four Border Crossings with Moldova Upgraded in Odesa Region: What Travelers and Businesses Can Expect.
Border Crossing Upgrades Completed Along the Moldova-Ukraine Frontier
According to Novyny.live: Authorities in the Odesa region have finished modernizing four checkpoints on the border with Moldova, significantly improving conditions for both people and goods crossing between the two countries. The upgraded facilities include:
- Starokozache — Tudora
- Dolynske — Chishmikioi
- Lisne — Seits
- Maloyaroslavets 1 — Ceadîr-Lunga
Each checkpoint now features new modular buildings, backup power sources, modern lighting, and upgraded utility networks. In addition, a service zone has been built near the 'Reni — Giurgiulești' crossing point along the Odesa–Reni highway. This zone can accommodate 46 trucks and 13 passenger cars.
Plans are also in place to install a video surveillance system and automated traffic management system, with completion expected by the end of August 2026.
Oleksii Kuleba stated: 'We continue to systematically modernize the border. We are building modern infrastructure that will meet European standards and ensure effective connectivity between Ukraine and EU countries.'
The service area includes lighting, water supply, drainage, and barrier-free access. These improvements are designed to enhance service quality and provide comfortable conditions for everyone crossing the border.
Modernizing these border crossings with Moldova represents a key step toward strengthening infrastructure and deepening economic ties between Ukraine and its neighbors. The upgraded checkpoints not only enable faster, more convenient crossings but also help improve security in border zones. With the planned rollout of video surveillance and automated traffic control, these vital transport hubs are expected to become even more efficient in the near future.
