From August, residents of multi-apartment buildings will receive a separate bill: This is how much they will pay for gas network maintenance.
New billing for the maintenance of gas pipelines in multi-apartment buildings
According to Мінфін — Крипто/Фінанси: In August 2023, residents of selected multi-apartment buildings will receive a standalone bill for the technical maintenance of the internal gas networks. The amount depends on the building's year of construction, the condition of the gas pipelines, and the number of apartments. The work will be carried out by specialists from the responsible company, who will inspect the network.
Gas network inspection process
The following points will be checked during the inspection:
- Leak tightness of connections;
- Tightness of gas pipelines;
- Condition of supports;
- Presence of protective pipes.
Important to know: Repairs or replacement of gas appliances in apartments are not included in this maintenance. Inspections of internal gas networks in buildings will take place depending on their age: for networks older than 25 years, every three years; for younger networks, once every five years.
Work schedules will be published on the websites of the regional offices of "Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine". Thus, residents of multi-apartment buildings can prepare for the new bills that reflect the costs of maintaining the gas pipelines in their homes. Previously, maintenance costs were often included in the general gas bills; this separation is intended to provide more transparency.
