Sofia Rotaru in Kyiv: Oksana Bilozir shared about the singer's life during the war.
According to ТСН: The People’s Artist of Ukraine Oksana Bilozir shared her thoughts on the life and work of her colleague Sofia Rotaru.
Sofia Rotaru's Position During the War
According to Oksana, Sofia Mykhailivna is currently in Kyiv. Bilozir noted that sometimes her colleague even performs, although she did not mention where these concerts take place. She expressed admiration for Rotaru's appearance at 78 years old and her certain civic position.
"I find this very appealing. I take her as an example. She looks wonderful, has concerts from time to time, but has suffered from the war. She made a choice — she did not stay in Crimea. She came to Kyiv. Her husband is buried here. Here, she is loved and respected — which is what she needs most at this time for her soul," the artist emphasized in an interview with Dmytro Gordon.
The Situation with Rotaru's Public Appearances
Journalist Gordon also confirmed Bilozir's words. It is worth noting that Sofia Rotaru has not appeared at public events for a long time and does not disclose details of her life. In her utmost privacy, she occasionally expresses herself on Instagram regarding the shelling in Ukraine and honors the memory of the victims. Therefore, the exact whereabouts of the singer remain unknown.
Oksana Bilozir's Divorce
Oksana Bilozir also became the first to confirm the reason for her divorce from her husband — military Roman Nedzelskyi after 33 years of marriage, describing the situation that affected their relationship.
These remarks highlight not only the deep connection between Ukrainian artists but also their resilience in challenging times. Both singers, despite all trials, feel comfortable in their cities and continue to live within their chosen cultural context, reinforcing their role in supporting the morale of Ukrainians.
