Occupiers advanced several streets in Selidove – ISW report.
In the Pokrovske direction, Russian troops achieved significant success, advancing along several streets in the city of Selidove. According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russians primarily advance through Novogrodivka, their rapid advance being connected to the retreat of Ukrainian troops to better positions. This was stated in the ISW analysts' report.
Analysts note that geolocation footage shows that Russian troops have recently advanced into the southern part of Selidove along Shevchenko Street and south of the settlement. Although the Russians have made gains, it may be difficult for them to maintain the pace of the offensive, especially in urban areas such as Pokrovsk.
Tense situation on the front line
The situation on the front line in the Pokrovsk and Selidove area remains critical, with numerous clashes between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops. Ukrainian troops repelled 34 assaults and there were 39 battles in various settlements in this direction, including Mykolaivka, Lysivka, and Novogrodivka.
Gradual displacement of Russian troops
In the Pokrovske direction, Russian troops are trying to displace Ukrainian units from their positions, using a significant amount of armored vehicles and infantry. However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are actively holding back these attacks, repelling about 24 assaults per day and inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Russian troop losses in this area amount to over 278 personnel per day, of which 116 are irrecoverable.
Tactical problems of Ukrainian military
Experts at ISW point to the tactical problems faced by Ukrainian military while carrying out their tasks. Russian troops are employing new tactics, including the use of electronic warfare, which can affect the effectiveness of Ukrainian troops' actions.
Western journalists believe that Russia’s war against Ukraine has reached its most dangerous point, and the future of Ukraine and Europe is uncertain if the allies do not succumb to the aggressor's blackmail.
According to information from the analytical project DeepState, Ukrainian military express dissatisfaction with poor defensive fortifications near the settlement of Hirnyk in the Donetsk region.
NATO admiral also noted that Ukraine and Russia share the same problems in the war – a shortage of human resources, insufficient training of mobilized personnel, and the need for new sources of ammunition and weapons.
