Ukrainian fencer donates winning saber to charity
Fencer Yulia Bakastova, who won gold at the Olympic Games alongside Olga Kharlan, Alina Komashchuk, and Elena Kravatska, has decided to donate her winning saber to charity.
She announced a raffle for this unique lot, which includes a flag with the autographs of the Olympic fencing champions and the saber that helped Bakastova secure a medal in Paris.
This saber symbolizes strength and victory and can become an interesting item for a family collection or office decor.
For a donation of 500 hryvnias or more, anyone can participate in the raffle for these valuable items. All funds raised will be used to purchase special backpacks for combat medics of the Defense Forces.
The Ukrainian fencing team won gold at the Olympic Games, defeating the South Korean team. This is Ukraine's third medal at the 2024 Olympics and the first gold in Paris.
Olga Kharlan, Alina Komashchuk, Elena Kravatska, and Yulia Bakastova represented Ukraine in the team fencing tournament. It was a tense competition, but Olga Kharlan ensured Ukraine's victory with a score of 45-42.
By winning the gold medal in the team saber event, Olga Kharlan became the first Ukrainian athlete to win more than five medals at the Olympic Games. She became the holder of six Olympic medals, thanks to a bronze in the individual event and gold in the team competition in Paris.
