The Russian Opposition Proposes to Issue Emigrants Passports of the "Russian Republic": Details.
Part of the Russian political emigration in the European Union proposes to issue an alternative passport for political emigrants from Russia. Olga Kurnosova, a member of the executive council of the "Congress of People's Deputies", announced this.
The passport will indicate citizenship of the "Russian Republic" instead of the Russian Federation. The Russian Republic is supposed to be parallel to the Russian Federation, and the issuance of citizenship will have a declarative character, explained Kurnosova.
Whether this republic will actually exist on the territory of the Kursk region, or will be only a virtual entity, will depend on further agreements with other countries, the politician noted.
The rights and responsibilities of citizens of the "Russian Republic" will be discussed separately, added Kurnosova.
The passport project will be presented at a meeting of representatives of the "Congress of People's Deputies", which will take place on November 7-8 in Warsaw. It should be noted that the united "Congress of People's Deputies" has split into two parts. One remained with the politician Ilya Ponomarev, who currently lives and works in Ukraine, and the other separated from him.
Recall that Russian opposition figures Yulia Navalnaya, Ilya Yashin, and Vladimir Kara-Murza announced the holding of a large anti-war demonstration in Berlin on November 17.
Also, Russian opposition figures are expressing concern because the Armed Forces of Ukraine are currently conducting military actions in the Kursk region. This was stated by Russian opposition figure Ilya Ponomarev in an interview with "Glavkom".
Time magazine recognized the wife of Alexei Navalny, a Russian politician, as one of the hundred most influential people of 2024. She topped the category "Leaders".
