Orban is going to Moscow: meeting with Putin scheduled for Friday.
According to ТСН: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban seems to be preparing for a trip to Moscow for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin this week.
Journalist Szabolcs Panyi reported the possible trip on social media. According to him, Orban's meeting with Putin is tentatively scheduled for Friday, November 28.
As of now, there has been no official confirmation from Budapest or the Kremlin.
Recent Meetings
The last in-person meeting between Orban and Putin took place in October 2023 in China. At that time, the Hungarian Prime Minister again referred to Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine as a 'special operation.'
Additionally, earlier Viktor Orban discussed organizing a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and proposed holding a summit between Trump and Putin in Budapest.
Trump then expressed that he saw no reason for such a meeting with the Kremlin leader.
This possible meeting between Orban and Putin could be significant in the context of relations between Hungary and Russia, especially given the current international situation. It is important to keep an eye on developments, as any decisions made by the leaders may impact not only bilateral relations but also regional stability.
