Where and how can you spend money from the 'School Package'

Thanks to the new option, parents can replenish their children's libraries by buying educational and fiction books. This option is available to everyone who received state assistance of 5 thousand hryvnias on the "Diia Card" from PrivatBank for preparing first-graders for offline learning. For convenience, the Ministry of Social Policy launched an online dashboard that collects a list of stores that accept payments within the program, simplifying shopping planning.

  • Stationery (notebooks, pens, backpacks, etc.).
  • Children's clothing and footwear.
  • Books (educational, fiction, developmental).

What the money from the 'School Package' is most often spent on

Experts note that the expansion of the program will promote children's interest in reading and reduce the financial burden on families. According to the Ministry of Social Policy, parents most often spend money on clothing and stationery. However, adding books to the shopping list may change this approach and stimulate the educational process.

The "School Package" program was initiated by the government in July 2025 to support families with children entering the first grade. Assistance of 5 thousand hryvnias is provided for each first-grader studying in person. This initiative is part of the national policy aimed at ensuring equal access to education and reducing financial pressure on parents.

This program will undoubtedly be an important step in supporting Ukrainian families. Providing the opportunity to buy books along with stationery and clothing may help foster a reading culture among children, positively affecting their development and learning. Given the importance of literature in shaping creative thinking, this innovation in the "School Package" will be very timely. It is expected that with new possibilities, parents will be able to more easily provide their children with the necessary learning materials, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on their educational process.
