Ukrainian Lawmaker Appeals to Parliament
According to TSN.ua: In a speech to Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, MP Pavlo Bakunets called for increased support for the families of captured Ukrainian soldiers. He stressed the urgent need to help these households, which are struggling due to the absence and captivity of their loved ones.
The Critical Need for Family Support
During his address, Bakunets also took the opportunity to thank General Kyrylo Budanov for his efforts in securing prisoner returns.
“I would also like to thank General Kyrylo Budanov, who has done a great deal of good for Ukrainian families,” the deputy stated.Expressing confidence that the repatriation process would continue, he added:
“We thank him and believe this work will go on.”
Kyrylo Budanov previously headed the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, underscoring his direct involvement in these sensitive operations. The ongoing war has placed immense strain on thousands of Ukrainian families, making such support systems vital. Bakunets's appeal highlights the continuing humanitarian challenges Ukraine faces, emphasizing that state efforts to return prisoners must be matched by systematic aid for their suffering families.
