Who Must Verify Their Identity? Ukraine’s Pension Fund Updates Payment Rules.
Conditions for Identity Verification to Receive a Pension
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine’s Pension Fund has outlined the requirements for identity verification needed to access pensions and insurance payouts, along with the available methods to complete this process. Specifically, Ukrainians currently abroad, residing in occupied territories, or living in areas under Kyiv’s control must undergo verification. This step is essential to maintain eligibility for pension benefits.
Verification must be completed annually by December 31. Once successfully verified, payments will resume from the date they were suspended. In cases where payments were halted due to a failure to report the absence of a Russian Federation pension, they will also be restored after submitting the required notification.
Ways to Confirm Your Identity
There are four options for Ukrainians to verify their identity:
- Remote verification using 'Diia.Signature'.
- Identity confirmation via video conference.
- Contacting Ukrainian diplomatic missions abroad.
- Visiting a Pension Fund office or a bank branch.
Given these conditions, Ukrainians must pay close attention to deadlines and methods to secure their right to pension payments. This information is especially relevant amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which has disrupted population mobility and access to social benefits. The verification process aims to protect citizens’ rights and ensure the stability of the pension system, a critical aspect of social security during the crisis. Ukrainians currently outside the country need to be aware of these requirements to avoid losing access to their benefits.
