Pensioners can receive additional payments and allowances: what documents to submit to the Pension Fund.
Ukrainian pensioners have been informed that in December some of them will receive nearly a thousand hryvnias as an additional payment to their pension. This is reported in the Law 'On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine regarding the increase of social guarantees for certain categories of persons'.
Some pensioners may be eligible for additional allowances and payments, in addition to the standard benefits. This applies to persons with special needs who require constant assistance and care due to their health condition.
It is important to note that in order to receive such additional payment, pensioners need to submit an application to the Pension Fund themselves, as it is not provided automatically. This must be done if the pensioner wants to receive the allowance and is entitled to it.
In particular, the individual must meet the following criteria:
- live alone;
- be over 80 years old;
- receive old-age pension;
- require assistance due to worsening health condition.
It is worth noting that the care allowance amounts to 40% of the subsistence minimum for disabled citizens. In 2024, this is 944 hryvnias. However, such payment can only be granted after the pensioner submits the necessary application to the Pension Fund and provides documents such as passport, tax identification number, extract from the Pension Fund stating the non-provision of the allowance, as well as a medical commission's conclusion on the need for external care.
The payment of state social assistance and the costs of its delivery are covered by the state budget.
